Disregarding Lore

From agharta.info Wiki

Players that disregard lore involving race, magic, the like without receiving approval will be given warnings. The warnings add up to this:

  • 1)Warning
  • 2)"Float" period where you cannot ask for anything approved for a month
  • 3)Character involved "frozen" until later date, decided by staff.

An example of breaking this rule would be disregarding simple magic truths - such as a cubi "instantly" changing appearance without any pain or time lapse. It is clearly written in the wiki that they are held to the same limitations that other races are with magic concerning appearance changing. In this circumstance, the appearance change would be retconned, the player warned, and nothing more. But if the player were to repeat such an error, they would be moved to warning step two, and so forth. A character frozen would imply that it is now unplayable, and if the player or staff wishes they can write up what happens to such character through the time lapse they are not allowed to be played. Under extreme circumstances a character may be killed, "run away", or "gone missing", but that is under deliberation of the staff and maybe even the player under extreme circumstance of misunderstanding of lore.

This also includes playing unapproved outside-of-lore characters, religions, places, tribes, etc or abilities outside of lore.

Please note that some warnings may not stack, it depends if its the same misunderstanding or something similar or even if its the same character. All warnings are under the deliberation of the staff giving them.

Some breaking of this rule may come from misunderstandings of the wikipedia, which is why there is a warning system and in many circumstances such things will be let past so long as the player acknowledges that they now understand the limitations and lore set forth.

Please note we aren't trying to be crazy, obsessive and controlling: we would just like the players to understand the limitations and details of the lore of the character they happen to be playing. If you wish to play a mage character, perhaps you should look through the magic wiki if you want to do things beyond the basic magic. If you are playing a special race character, you should make sure to know the details of their race. Especially characters that require approval.

If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
